The 22-year-old from Italy was drafted by the New York Knicks in the first-round of the 2008 NBA Draft, and was thought to be part of the future of the franchise since the day he was drafted.
Then Carmelo Anthony became available and that all changed. Gallinari was averaging nearly 16 ppg for the Knicks this season, his highest average of his career. After an injury plagued rookie season, Gallinari came back last year to play in 81 games for the Knicks averaging just over 15 ppg.
